NSPA secures Landcare funding

The North Side Progress Associaton has been successful in securing a Land Care Grant under the Australian government’s Caring for our Country programme.

The grant will enable us to remove noxious weeds which are spreading through our precious rainforest areas.

The NSPA will be working with Daintry Garrand from Hastings Land Care, who was also instrumental in securing the funds.

We will also work co-operatively with council which also received funding for the removal of noxious weeds between Pelican Point and Limeburners’ National Park.  By co-ordinating our efforts we can ensure there is no duplication in the work and the funds are used effectively.

Work will soon begin in the first zone – which will be around Corilla estate (on the Plomer Road).

North Side residents are encourage to volunteer in this project – even if its just once a month for an hour or so.

All volunteers will receive training in weed identification and control. Tools will also be supplied
